Erma Hendrickson

Erma Hendrickson, 87, Fargo, ND, formerly Colfax, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Essentia Health, Fargo. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Colfax, ND with Rev. Dan Forsberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Erma was born on December 21, 1929 in Viking Township, Rural Walcott, ND to Albert and Charlotte (Jorgensen) Walberg. She attended school in Viking Township and graduated from Colfax High School in 1947. She then went to Moorhead Teachers College and received her teaching certificate. She returned home and taught in area schools for four years.

Erma was united in marriage to Merland Hendrickson on July 19, 1952 at Viking Lutheran Church. They farmed together on the farm in Abercrombie Township and raised their four children. She was an expert in needlework and gave a lot of her works away to family and friends.

She was active in the Women's Farm Bureau, Our Savior's Ladies Aid and the Bible Study Group. She was a great cook and baker and loved all sports from basketball to Twin's baseball.

Erma will be greatly missed by her husband, Merland, Colfax, ND; her children, Daniel Hendrickson, Colfax, ND, Deborah (Sid Berg) Mitskog, Colfax, ND, DiAnn (John) Kehrwald, Salol, MN, Paul (Sue) Hendrickson, Colfax, ND; her grandchildren, Brian Olthoff, Sioux Falls, SD, Matthew Mitskog, Mooreton, ND, Hannah Mitskog, Fargo, ND; her sisters-in-law, Elaine Walberg, Marion Walberg, and Phayme Hendrickson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Charlotte Walberg, her brothers, Corman Walberg, Lloyd Walberg, and a sister, Alice Shirley.
