Donna Marie (Krump) Stone went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:25 on January 20, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1935, to Esther (Moltzen) and Theadore Krump of Wahpeton, ND. She was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic School, Wahpeton, ND and continued with studying nursing at NDSSS and rather than finishing her studies, she fell in love and decided Marine Private Duane L. Stone was a better choice. They were united in marriage in Idaho Falls, ID on January 28, 1954, and were blessed with 5 children and 1 special son (Exchange Student) that called them Mom and Dad, 14 grandchildren (+ 10 spouses), 24 great grandchildren. Her heart was filled with joy when she was around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her everything!
Donna became a member of the Antelope United Methodist Church in 1955, and soon was active in the woman’s groups, church choir and Sunday school Superintendent. After that church closed and she moved to Wahpeton, she joined the Evergreen United Methodist church and was active in her circle and the church choir. She was a very devoted and faithful servant and had a very deep relationship with God.
Donna was also a very active member of the Robert Bergman Post 283, American Legion Auxiliary in Mooreton, ND.
While Donna was a teenager, worked at the Linn Harris Restaurant as a waitress, as well as working as a house cleaner. She continued her work as a farm wife and helped raise chickens, pigs, sheep, and dairy cattle while tending to the household duties. She was quite the multi-tasker. When the children were married and out of her hair, she took on the job as activity’s director at The Leach Home in Wahpeton, ND. In 1986 Donna and Duane sold the family farm to their youngest son and his wife and moved to Kingman, AZ to start a business of cleaning carpets and doing water restoration. A few years after Duane passed away, she decided to move back home to North Dakota. At that time, she helped again on the family farm for a few years. She then decided to move to Wahpeton to find work there. She worked at Four Seasons Greenhouse, Wahpeton Floral, Circle of Nations Wahpeton Indian School as well as helping as an aid in the Wahpeton School system. While looking for other work, Job Service hired her to help those who needed help filling out a job application and cleaning Job Service after hours. During that time, she went back to NDSSS and took a couple classes to help her learn computer programs that she needed at work. She then took on a job at Walmart until the time of her retirement.
Donna is survived by three of her siblings: sister Teddy Lindberg, little brother Theadore (Ted) Krump Jr. (Nancy), and her baby sister Kay (Eldon) Gade. She also leaves behind her five children and a very special son through the Foreign Exchange Student Program: Robert Theadore Stone (Jana)-Becker, MN; Jackie Johnson (Clyde)-Hazen, ND; Scott A. Stone-Woodbury, MN; Thomas Duane Stone (Bee)-Barney, ND and Belinda Snyder (Mike)-Morris, MN; Leonardo Cardoso – Mexico, as well as 14 Grandchildren (+ 10 spouses) and 24 Great Grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Duane Lee Stone, her grandparents, mother Esther and father Theadore Krump, sister Beatrice Daniels (Dan), sister Larelie, special big brother Philip Krump (Delores), sister LaVonne Lasher (Ed), Marilyn Monson (Lowell), Patricia Cook (Gary) and nephews Brian Craig Stone, Matthew Krump, Carl Munson, Lyle Lasher.
Our mother was our everything. We have no worries as to where she is now, pain free, able to breath and singing to her hearts content. We love you very much and will miss you more. Tell Dad hi from us. Bob, Jackie, Scott, Tom and Belinda.
