Dolores Fluto

Dolores M. Fluto, 84, Alexandria, MN, originally Mantador, ND, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014, in Alexandria. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 4, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND, and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be at Elk Creek Cemetery, Wyndmere, ND. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Dolores was born February 23, 1930, in Mantador, ND, the daughter of Walter and Frieda (Lelm) Krause. Dolores grew up near Mantador, ND, attending rural school and graduating from Wyndmere High School. She completed her teaching certificate and taught in a one room school house near Wyndmere. She was united in marriage to Stanley Fluto on June 11, 1948. They lived in several towns in the area including Alexandria, MN and Devils Lake, ND. In their retirement they spent summers at Otter Tail Lake, MN, and winters at Lake Havasu City, AZ. Stanley died April 29, 2010, Dolores moved to Alexandria, to live closer to family.

Dolores loved to be with her children and their children, especially cherishing each and every Holiday together. She was an excellent cook, an interest her children also enjoyed. She was always known to have several crossword puzzles handy in which she was constantly challenging herself with.

Dolores is survived by her nine children: Cheryl McQuade, West Fargo/AZ; Gary Fluto, Lidgerwood; David Fluto, Otter Tail Lake/AZ; Paul (Mary) Fluto, Fargo/AZ; Brian (Tammy) Fluto, Bemidji, MN; Bradley (Eufemia) Fluto, Lubbock, TX; Tim Fluto, Alexandria; Marsha (Randy) Sayre, Alexandria; Deborah Roth-Hall, Littleton, CO; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother: Verdell (Walter) Gagelin, West Fargo; Gayle (Gary) Wohl, West Fargo; and Dennis Krause, Wyndmere.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley, and an infant daughter, Jennifer.
