Delmar Mohs

Delmar "Moe" Mohs, 77, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, at 2 PM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Delmar was born on November 24, 1936 in Wahpeton, ND the youngest child of Charles and Bertha (Albright) Mohs. He grew up and attended school in Wahpeton. In 1955, Moe started his service in the US Army. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1973.

Moe was united in marriage to Pauline Darling on April 17, 1970 in Tacoma, WA. After his discharge, they lived in Iowa where he worked on a farm. In 1976, they returned to Wahpeton where he worked for Meyer & Sons building grain elevators and then on the Harold Ness farm. They moved to Louisiana where Moe worked on offshore oil rigs as a cook for 15 years. They then moved to Washington in 2001 where he worked for Walmart. In 2007, they returned to Wahpeton where he continued to work for Walmart until his health didn't allow it anymore.

Moe was a member of the Wahpeton American Legion and VFW and the Eagles. He liked watching western shows and listening to country music. He also enjoyed his time tinkering in the garage.

Moe is survived by his wife Pauline, Wahpeton, ND; his sister, Arlene Rensvold, Moorhead, MN; his godchild, Michelle Hartleban, Hankinson, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James Mohs, his three sisters, Magdalene Meyer, Arletta Westphal, and Marlys Long.
