Deborah R. Olson, 62, Lidgerwood, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Bethany Living on University, Fargo, ND. Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Peace Lutheran Church in Barney, ND. There will be visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Wyndmere, ND. Pastor Brock Schmeling will officiate.
Deborah R. Olson, fondly known as Deb, passed away on May 27th, 2023, at the age of 62. She was born on October 13th, 1960, in Breckenridge, MN to Vernon and Arlene (Wittkopp) Heitkamp. Deb was a cherished mother, sister, friend, and grandparent who will be deeply missed.
Deb graduated from Wyndmere in North Dakota and went on to attend NDSCS for medical transcription. Her distinguished education paved the way for her successful career.
Those who knew Deb recall her as a kind-hearted woman who had a warm spirit. Her welcoming personality made everyone feel comfortable when they were around her. She had an infectious smile and laughed with ease; she spread happiness wherever she went. She will always be remembered for her gentle nature and caring attitude.
One cherished memory of Deb is taking her on a horse-drawn carriage ride through Charleston in South Carolina during one of the hottest days of summer, yet she never complained. She was always happy just being with her family.
Deb is survived by her son, Jeremy (Sierra) Olson; grandchildren, Abram, Bennett, and Vivian Olson; siblings, Dean (Sue) Heitkamp, Gary (Roberta) Heitkamp; and sister-in-law Arlinda Olson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Arlene; and her special dog, Sami.
