David Werth

David Werth, 42 of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.  Visitation will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton.  His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2 pm, with visitation one hour prior at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. Pastor Matthew Tooman will officiate the service.

David Alan Werth was born on December 22, 1982, in Ellendale, ND, to Alan and Dorothy Werth, joining brothers, Philip "Phil" and Andrew "Andy".  He lived with his family on a farm northwest of Ellendale until May 1990 when they moved to Ft. Wayne, IN, until August 1992. Then it was off to McClusky, ND until December of 1997.  At that time the family moved to Wahpeton where he lived until his death on January 14, 2025.

He was baptized in Ellendale on January 2, 1983, and loved roaming around the farm in his early years.  In Ft. Wayne he enjoyed playing ball, riding bike, and was involved in Boy Scouts. While in McClusky he loved playing with neighborhood kids, biking, mowing lawns, and blowing snow.  He was confirmed in McClusky on May 4, 1997.  In Wahpeton, he belonged to the school band and choir, played football, and delivered newspapers, he graduated from Wahpeton High School in May of 2001.  During high school, he met JoAnna Osborn and they married on September 6, 2003. They were blessed with five children: Allie (20), Kayla (17), Joshua (11), Austin (6), and Jordan (5).

David worked various jobs in and around Wahpeton, but the one he enjoyed and appreciated the most was his most recent with Krause Brothers, driving lime truck out of Minn-Dak.  He loved visiting with his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends.  But his greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife and kids!
