Dan Wold Sr.

Dan Paul Wold, 63, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Davenport, IA, passed away on May 1, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center Broadway, Fargo, ND. As per Dan's wishes, burial will take place at a later date in Iowa.

Dan was born on November 23rd, 1955 to Clifford and Patricia (Greenlee) Wold in Davenport, IA. After graduating from high school, Dan spent his younger years working several occupations and moving several times. He eventually settled down in Wahpeton, ND, where he met and married Becky (Monson) Wold.

He spent many years logging in the forests of Washington State.  Dan later moved to North Dakota, finding his talent as a welder, which he did for many years.

Dan was a loving father to all of his children, including his grandchildren. He taught them how to fish, how to always put others before oneself, to always be kind, and to do the right thing.

Dan was a true patriot; there was always a flag outside of every place he called home. When he wasn’t working, Dan would go out and fish, or play the harmonica and guitar. He loved to laugh, but he mostly enjoyed seeing laughter in others. He was known to be a caring and charitable person who always looked for the light at the end of the tunnel, and never gave up.

It was hard not to like Dan, he always had a smile and a joke to share. As he moved throughout his life, he naturally made friends in the community, and he contributed all that he could to those in need. His loss will truly be felt by those who knew him.

Dan is survived by his siblings: Laurel Poitras, Roxanne Wold, Claudia Wold, Joey Rose – Jester, and Roy (Speed) Wold, his children: Carmen Ozbourne, Brandy Fryman, and Dan Wold Jr., his step-children: Sari Naughton, Devon Peterson, Axel Peterson, and Kyle Peterson, and 11 grandchildren.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Patricia (Greenlee) Wold, and step-mother, Jan Wold.
