Constance J. Zangla, Lisbon, ND, formerly Wahpeton, ND, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon, ND. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel in the Veterans Home in Lisbon. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Constance was born August 17, 1934, in Wahpeton, ND, the daughter of George W. and Mabel (Bohn) Kath. She grew up in Great Bend, ND, and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1952. She attended Valley City Teachers College and taught school near Kindred, ND. Constance joined the US Marines and served until 1956. While in the Marines, she married Tom Zangla, the couple traveled throughout the world; raising their two sons in Europe, Africa and most of the United States. Over the years, Constance remembers 38 moves. Constance returned to Wahpeton in 2007, and in the last couple of years, she entered the Veterans Home in Lisbon.
Constance is survived by her two sons, Lawrence (Michele) Zangla, Ramsy, MN; and Tom "Jay" (Kathy) Zangla, Annandale, MN; two grandchildren, Robert and Joseph Zangla; her brother, Clifford (June) Kath, Arkansas; her sister, Sharon Kath, Auburn, WA; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel Kath.
