Clara Kragness

Clara Leone Kragness, daughter of John and Ingeborg (Lokken) Kragness was born July 8, 1918 on the family farm near Christine, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Richland Lutheran Church, rural Walcott. She attended Eagle #5 and later lived and worked in Fargo, ND and Averill, MN for several area families. She was a caregiver for their parents until their death. She later did volunteer work at Bethany Homes, Fargo and at Bonanzaville during Pioneer Days, cooking Norwegian Rommegrot.

Clara was a life long member of Richland Lutheran Church, rural Walcott, ND, was active in WELCA and quilting. She was a wonderful seamstress, cake decorator and was known for her Lefse and Norwegian delicacies.

Clara is survived by two sisters, Amy Dittmer, Fargo, ND; and Ina Kragness, Walcott, ND, and one brother, Vernon Kragness, Walcott, ND; eight nieces and nephews, Beverly (Donald) Hurner, Glyndon, MN; Lee (Connie) Dittmer, Nisswa, MN; Elizabeth (Charles) Richards, Georgetown, MN; Gerald (Nancy) Bolme, Los Alamos, NM; Cathy Bolme, Minneapolis, MN; Maryann (Steve) Olthoff, Wolverton, MN; Randy (Jody) Kragness, Fargo; Dawn (Todd) Clarin, Walcott, ND; and eight great nieces and 14 great nephews, and 20 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Palmer, Oliver and Julian; sister, Oline Bolme, nephew Peter Bolme.
