Charles (Jr.) Brosowske was born September 10th, 1925 to Ella (Thiel) and Charles Brosowske, Sr., in Wahpeton, ND. He grew up on several farms around Barney, ND, and was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Barney. He graduated from Antelope Consolidated School in 1943, and claimed he was Valedictorian of his class of four!
Jr. married Beverly Manstrom on April 23, 1949 in Wyndmere Lutheran Church. They farmed near Wyndmere, where they raised their five children. They lived on the farm until he was hospitalized in early February.
Jr. was very community minded, serving on many boards including Danton Township, Wyndmere Fire Protection District, Wyndmere Farmers Elevator, Wyndmere Lutheran Church, Wyndmere Crop Show, and Elk Creek Cemetery. He was also a member of the Wahpeton Elks Club, Wahpeton Eagles Club, Wyndmere Community Club, and the 18 Club. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award at the 1983 Crop Show.
Jr. was a great friend to all, a stranger to none, a much loved and cherished family man, and an all around lovable guy. Bev and Jr. celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary last April with many friends and family.
He entered St. Francis Home on February 24th, and died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 27th. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Brenda and the staff at St. Francis Home, and Dr. Mayo and the staff at St. Francis Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness.
Jr. will be dearly missed by his wife, Beverly; son Tom (Maxine) Brosowske, Wyndmere, and their children Molly (Alec Rosemore), and Jeffrey; daughter Laurel Haroldson, Jamestown, and children Ann (Jerry) Specht, and their children Haley, Tyler, and Ryan; Erik; and Chris (Kristine Kemmet); daughter Gail (Del) Nantt, Rochester, MN, and children Emily (Meghan Stotts) and Cory; daughter Janet (Dennis) Klosterman, Mooreton, and their children Chad, Jenna, and Megan; daughter-in-law Barb Brosowske, Fargo, and her son Paul; nephew John (Jennifer) Manstrom, Wyndmere, and their children Laura, Catherine, Anne, and Jack; nephew Mike (Char) Manstrom, Bismarck, and their children Jeremy (Jamie), Peter, and Hannah; niece Sheryl (Herb) Turner, Denver.
Welcoming Jr. Home are his parents, his son Steve, son-in -law Tom Haroldson, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Pearl and Bob Muehlberg, and Margie and Leslie (Swede) Manstrom.
We will miss his hearty laugh, his big smile, his genuine concern, his deep faith, his gift of conversation, and mostly his generous heart. God bless the memory of Jr. Brosowske!
