Blaine Basehore

Blaine Darren Basehore passed away January 30, 2025, under the care of Hospice, at his residence, after a brave, hard fought battle against glioblastoma. His wife Teresa, sister Roxsann and fur baby Shadow by his side. A Memorial Service will take place at 3 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Vertin Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM. A Meal will be served following the Memorial Service. 

He was born January 3, 1966, in Meyersdale, PA to Dale and Marge Basehore. When he was in the 2nd grade they moved to Kent, MN. He graduated in 1984 from Breckenridge High School.

On May 18, 1990, he married Teresa (Hoeft) Pauly. We were blessed with our 3 fur babies, Big Bob, Little Bob and Shadow. I have lost my knight in shining armor.

He had a life-long love for antique automobiles and working on vehicles. He was always ready to go to a car show or Steam Threshers event in Rollag or Dalton. He also had his own collection of cars that he loved to go out and look at. He was proud to be only the second owner of his 1947 International M tractor with factory wide front and dual rear wheels.

In 1987 he graduated from NDSCS in the Diesel Mechanic program. He started his career at Comstock Construction until he went to work for Midnite Express in West Fargo in 2008. He worked there until May 2023 when the shop closed.

He was blessed with many good friends that enjoyed his quick wit and humor.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa, fur baby Shadow, his parents Dale and Marge, sisters Roxsann and Rosalind, father-in-law Kelvin Hoeft, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Jackie (Patrick) Hoeft and Tim (Ashley) Hoeft and nephews and nieces, Taylor, Jalyn, Ashton, Autumn and Lexi.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Herman and Esther Basehore and Milt and Wilma Grenier, mother-in-law Paulette Hoeft and brother-in-law Dallas Beltz.
