Betty Olson

Betty was born July 17, 1921 to Emil and Emma (Hlavnicka) Foyt. She attended school and worked on the family farm near Wyndmere, ND. In 1964, Betty moved to Portland, OR and was united in marriage to Omar Olson on October 31, 1964. They made their home in Portland until Omar retired in February, 1978. In the fall of 1978 they bought a place in McLeod, ND to take care of Betty's mother. Omar passed away on January 7, 1985 and Betty continued to live in McLeod until the 1990's when she moved to the Veteran's Home in Lisbon, ND. In February 2006, Betty moved to St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND.

Betty enjoyed collecting ceramic cats, crossword puzzles, gardening and cooking. She especially loved when her family would come home for the summer.

Betty is survived by: her step-daughter, Bonnie (Eugene) Ivy, Portland OR; her step-son, Robert Olson, Vancouver, WA; six grandchildren, Brenda, Chad, Toni, Teri, Heather, Jolene; seven great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Omar, three brothers, and a sister.
