B.E. Chapman

B. E. "Bud" Chapman, 91, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Sunday March 6, 2011 at Saint Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton. The Funeral will be Friday, March 11, 10:30 a.m., at Fairmount United Methodist Church, Fairmount, with Pastor Fern Bailey officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM prayer service at Willow Creek Chapel

B.E. (Bud) Chapman, adoptive son of Orange and Olive Chapman was born January 9, 1920. He attended grade school in LaMars, and graduated from Fairmount High School in 1938. Bud began farming full-time on his family farm in LaMars Township. He was united in marriage to Irene Elizabeth Rosenkranz (Snyder) on December 26, 1955 at Bethany United Methodist Church. Bud continued farming and was an active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. He served on the Church Board for many years. He also served on the LaMars Township board. Bud enjoyed raising his Black Angus cattle on his farm and he was the first farmer in the area to raise soybeans. After retiring and moving to Wahpeton, N.D, he enjoyed coming out to the farm to help out whenever needed. Bud also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Kirby (JoAnne) Chapman of Brighton, CO; stepson Floyd (Lisa) Rosenkranz of Krum, TX; stepdaughter Joyce (Skip) Martin of Yukon, OK; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Irene.
