Austin Vosberg

Austin Vosberg, 22, of Wahpeton, ND passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Sean Daenzer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm prayer service, Sunday at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Elk Creek Cemetery, Wyndmere, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Austin James was born on August 21, 1994 to Jeff Zimmel and Stephanie Vosberg (Whaley) in Denver, CO. He grew up and attended school in Wheaton, MN, Breckenridge, MN and Wahpeton. He went on to pursue his interests in working construction with his grandpa, Gordy, his uncle, Mike and his Dad. He also enjoyed farming with his grandpa, Lenny, along with Amy and Jake Tiegs, where he spent some of his last few years living with them and helping them out on the farm.

Austin also enjoyed hunting, fishing, derbying, mudding, spending time outdoors, driving truck, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Austin is survived by his father, Jeff Zimmel and special friend, Shawna Krause; his mother, Stephanie (Chris) Whaley; his siblings, Laura Whaley, Andrew Vosberg, Brittney Whaley, Damon Whaley, Anissa Zimmel, Ryan Hollingsworth, and Samantha Whaley; his grandparents, Lenny and Diane Zimmel, Sandy (Jim) Post, Denise Vosberg, Kayleen Whaley and Ione Vosberg; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, along with his birth son, Zach.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl (Bud) Vosberg, Gordon Vosberg, Harold and Tootie Huseth, Clarence and Elizabeth Zimmel, and Dale and Margaret Sax, and his uncle, Arnie Zimmel.
