Alyce L. Seurer Schuster, 86, Wahpeton, ND, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March, 8, 11:00 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton. Visitation will be Friday, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, from 4 PM to 7 PM, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Alyce's wish was to be buried next to her first husband, Edward Seurer at Calvary Cemetery in Wahpeton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home.
Alyce was born June 27, 1927 in Maplewood Township, MN, to Emma (Wait) Rogers and Ray Rogers. She married Edward Seurer in May of 1948. They lived in the Breckenridge-Wahpeton area. Edward passed away in 1967. Alyce married Raymond Schuster in June of 1969, they settled outside of the Doran, MN area. They later separated.
Alyce was a cook at various restaurants in the area. She was a wonderful cook and her family and friends were blessed to have had meals prepared by her loving hands. She was an excellent seamstress as well, and did alterations up until her passing. She loved to play cards with her family and friends and enjoyed her crossword puzzles. In her younger years, she loved to dance. She was a loving, generous, hardworking individual, who will be dearly missed.
Alyce was a woman full of life and love for her family. She had 7 children, 23 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
Alyce is survived by seven children: Gerald (Mary) Seurer, St. Bonifacious, MN; Gregory (Debbie) Seurer, Moorhead, MN; Glennis (Donald) Dixon, Detroit Lakes, MN; Geretta (Gary) Heinert, Woodbury, MN; Garland (Emily) Schuster, Wahpeton, ND; Melissa (Edwin) Winkelman, Breckenridge, MN; Francis Schuster, Forman, ND; 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters: Lola "Peaches" (Donald) Freitag, Wahpeton; Eugene Rogers, Granville, ND; Eileen (Harvey) Willprecht, Willmar, MN; Forrest Rogers, Sparks, NV; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant twins; and her siblings: Florence Kiser, Edith Peterson, Gertrude Weldin, Maxine Monson, Chauncey Rogers, Erma (Dolly) Bradley, Ray Rogers.
To those who loved her, the world will be a lesser place.
