Allene Kube

Allene Davies Kube, 103, from rural Wahpeton, North Dakota, died on January 4, 2011 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton. There will be a gathering on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Willow Creek Chapel. The family extends an invitation to her friends to come for a visitation at 1:30, and a service in her honor at 2:00. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements are with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Allene was born in Frankfort, Kentucky. She grew up in St. Paul MN where she lived with her military family at Fort Snelling. She later moved to Fargo and then Wahpeton, ND. For the past thirteen years she has lived at St Catherine's.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Llewellyn (Bill) Kube, her parents, William and Nelchene Hazelrigg and one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kube. She is survived by her daughters, Lou Scherer and Geni Smouse who reside in Florida, and her son, John Kube. John and his wife, Tuula, live on the family farm near Mooreton, ND. She has eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Her memory lives on through her family and all those who loved her.
