Alan Klein, 58, Wahpeton, ND passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, September 18, 2016. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.
Alan was born on January 30, 1958 in Bismarck, ND to Donald and Corrine (Monson) Klein. When he was a baby his family moved to Washington State. He grew up and attended school there until his family moved back to Bismarck when he was a teenager. During his school years and after, he worked in his father's and uncle's body shop, which was his lifelong career as one of the best body guys around.
Alan was united in marriage to Tammy Wagner in Bismarck on April 23, 1977. They moved their family of twins to Wahpeton, ND in 1979, where Alan began working for the Smith Motors body shop. He worked for them for 20 years until 1999 when he began working for Berger's Auto Body where he was currently employed.
Alan had many interests including, watching TV, doing yard work, listening to music, learning about fossils and dinosaurs, and collecting rocks. His main love in life was his family, especially his two granddaughters and his cat, Snickers.
Alan is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Tammy; his son, Tyler (Mandy) Klein, Wahpeton, ND and their daughters, Aleyah and Marley; his daughter, Tasha (Tom) Gerding, Bismarck, ND; his mother, Corrine Tolstad, Bismarck; his father, Donald (Bea) Klein, Baldwin, ND; his sisters, Bonnie Wilson-Curtis, Las Vegas, NV, Lori Klein, Carbondale, CO; his step sister, Vicki (Rob) Seigel, Bismarck; and his step-brother, Danny (Elyse) Ketterling, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl Sr. and Mabel Klein; his maternal grandparents, Edna and Algot Monson, and his step-father, Ray Tolstad.
