Adeline Eva Marquardt was born April 5, 1927 in Taylor Township, rural Wheaton, MN to William and Hilda (Meyer) Marquardt. She grew up on the family farm, attended school in Taylor Township, and worked at Cuddahays in Fairmount. On June 12, 1947 Adeline was united in marriage to Lloyd Zentgraf at First English Lutheran Church in Fairmount, ND. The couple lived at rural Great Bend, ND until moving to Taylor Township in 1950 where they farmed and raised their two children.
Lloyd passed away suddenly on March 16, 1973. She continued to live on the farm until moving to Wahpeton in 1976. She lived there until the present time. In 1976, Adeline began working in the Food Service Department at NDSCS, retiring in 1994.
Adeline was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and LWML, Wahpeton Senior Citizens, and the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, gardening, and had a passion for cooking and baking for family and friends. She loved being a Grandma and spending time with family and friends. Adeline will always be remembered for her delicious food, her soft spoken, caring demeanor, and her loving smile.
Adeline is survived by her son, Timothy (April) Zentgraf, Fergus Falls, MN; daughter, Monica Zentgraf, Wahpeton, ND; three grandsons, Aaron Zentgraf, Troutman, NC, Jeremy Zentgraf, Wahpeton, ND, Erik Zentgraf, Springfield, MO, sister-in-law, Harriet Marquardt, Fargo, ND; brother-in-law, Mearl Zentgraf, Moorhead, MN, several nieces and nephews, six step grandchildren and sixteen step great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd Zentgraf, two brothers, Lester and Elmer Marquardt; and two nieces, Tammy and Shelly Marquardt.
